Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why should I wear a face covering?
In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, many countries have made the wearing of face masks or face coverings mandatory or highly recommended. From 19 July 2021, there is no longer a legal requirement to wear face coverings in indoor settings or on public transport in the UK. That said, the UK government has advised that wearing a face covering can reduce the risk to others and yourself against the spread of infection because they cover the nose and mouth, which are the main confirmed sources of transmission of the virus that causes coronavirus infection. Government guidelines also state that people are expected and recommended to continue wearing a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces where they may come into contact with people that they don’t usually meet and where the risk of transmission is likely to be greater (for example, on public transport). Businesses, including transport operators, can also ask their employees and customers to wear face coverings. Face coverings should not be used by children under the age of 2, or by others who may find it difficult to manage them correctly. For example, primary age children unassisted, or those with respiratory conditions.
  • How should I wear a face covering?
The UK government has advised that face coverings should: - Cover your mouth and nose whilst still allowing you to breathe comfortably - Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face with as little gapping as possible - Be secured with ear loops or ties - Include multiple layers of fabric but allow for breathing without restriction - Be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape. At Wiltshire Wellness, we have designed our face coverings to meet these requirements. Before putting on, and after taking off your face covering, you should wash your hands, or use hand sanitiser. You should avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth at all times and store used face coverings in a plastic bag until you have an opportunity to wash them. You should not touch the front of the face covering, or the part of the face covering that has been in contact with your mouth and nose and, once removed, you should clean any surfaces the face covering has touched. Your face covering should be changed and washed if it becomes damp or if you have touched it.
  • What is my face covering made from?
Your Wiltshire Wellness face covering is a 3-ply high-grade fabric face covering produced to our own specification. Designed to be lightweight, cool and comfortable to wear, the outer and middle layer are 100% cotton, with a soft muslin inner layer. There is a light aluminium strip incorporated at the top of the mask to ensure a comfortable, secure fit around the nose and there are soft elastic, adjustable ear straps at each side to hold the mask in place. The muslin inner layer contains a pocket in which disposable filters can be inserted if desired. The face coverings are washable and re-usable. Please note that the face covering is not a medical device or classed as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • How do I wash my face covering?
Your Wiltshire Wellness face covering is washable and re-usable and should be changed and washed daily. 100% cotton and muslin, the coverings can be machine or hand washed and can be washed with your other laundry (taking care to wash with similar coloured items). We would recommend use of natural detergent and a gentle cycle at 30º. Face coverings can be tumble dried (low heat). However, in order to avoid any shrinkage, we would recommend that they are line dried. They can be ironed (taking care to avoid any printed logo or branding). Please remember to remove any disposable filter before washing. Face coverings should be washed before wearing for the first time.
  • Can the face coverings be personalised?
Wiltshire Wellness face coverings can be branded for businesses, made up in a fabric colour / pattern of your choice with your branding / company logo screen printed or embroidered in a position of your choosing. There is a minimum order quantity for this service. Please contact enquiries@wiltshirewellness.co.uk for further information.
